| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Put together by Abba's own Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, Mamma Mia! manages to cram over 20 of the Swedish supergroup's songs into a threadbare plot. It goes a little like this: Young Sophie is getting married and she's trying to identify which of three men is her father. That's about it. Wisely, the musical doesn't mess around with the songs, save for the insertion of some dialogue or for having some of them performed by a man (it works amazingly well). Abba fans will jump on this import of the London production, but traditional fans of musical theater should consider it as well. After all, Andersson and Ulvaeus's songs have always felt as if they were more than isolated pop gems and actually belonged to a longer narrative. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

This recording of Broadway's Mama Mia Album Transendent!! July 19, 2010 BB (Mass) I loved Abba, as a young girl, so when I heard later, they were doing a musical based on they're music, I felt the 80s glittery, spacey, & free feeling come back, where you could dance, & sing anywhere, at any time, & no one would look at you, like you were a weirdo.
Well, weirdo or not, I loved Abba's fresh sound then, & now, When dance, & song is really all I have left to me, to free my spirit, & soul in this up tite world.
Maybe you understand that, maybe you don't. Doesn't matter everyone feels something differen't, and wonderful from Abba's music. & this recording of the show does not disapoint.
But if one was to listen to the sadness behind some of Abba's songs lyrics,
they would understand them more.
Sound was great, songs as I said transendant. Tho I enjoyed the film version too very much. This raw version lifts you, from your seat, & will make you want to dance & sing, try it, you might enjoy the safe flight. Back to a time when dance, was a fun, & free feeling. Keep on dancing, U Dancing Queens, with star dust in your hair, & everywhere. You know what I mean?! Tho, not strictly Drag Queens, & frightful Discos repetious beats.) Abba was so much more than that, with erry melodic, cadence & the story that is created from this amazing combination,on a differen't stage,is quite something to witness, & hear for yourself.
(Just smiles) Lo- BB
Mamma Mia June 15, 2010 D. Johnson (Florida) I didn't care for this CD, so I returned it. However, the transaction in doing so was wonderful. I appreciate the expert service!
Mamma mia CD June 4, 2010 G. Witherspoon (Heathmont, VIC, AU) I went to the musical recently here in Melbourne and loved it and wanted to get the music, I am enjoying the cd, it is fantastic! Thank you so much, your prompt service and delivery is much appreciated.
Love The Music But Hate This Version March 28, 2010 B. J. Smith (Southwest) I should have paid closer attention to the writeup. All I saw was "Broadway", not the London cast. I would have been better off buying the original songs sung by ABBA.
Mama Mia! Better sound! March 7, 2010 George Nonomura (San Francisco, CA USA) The Musical Mama Mia has one very big advantage. All the singers are professional singers. If you're an Abba fan then this is much better than the movie version. The singing is much better and there are more songs. If you're a fan of Meryl Streep and/or Pierce Brosnan then get the movie sound track. Both are good sound tracks but the Theater version is definitely better music.
